Polestar has revealed its most ambitious product plan ever: four all-new models are set to launch between 2026 and 2028. This means the Swedish EV brand — which currently sells the Polestar 2, 3 and 4 — will have a complete model portfolio of seven named cars within a couple of years. Here's everything we know about each model, including prices and delivery timelines.

Polestar 5 — grand tourer, delivery summer 2026

Polestar 5 is a low, wide four-door GT coupé that will serve as the brand's flagship. The car has been in development for a long time and is built on a completely bespoke platform with 800V technology. It's designed to compete with the Porsche Taycan and BMW i5 rather than conventional SUVs.

Deliveries to Swedish customers are expected to begin in **summer 2026**, making Polestar 5 the first of the new models to reach the market. The price has not been officially confirmed, but is expected to land in the premium segment — likely above SEK 800,000.

For privatleasing, that probably means monthly prices in the range of **SEK 9,000–12,000/month**, in line with or slightly above the current Polestar 3, which starts from SEK 9,995/month.

Polestar 4 estate variant — with a real rear window, delivery Q4 2026

The current Polestar 4 has received both praise and criticism — praise for its technology and pricing, criticism for lacking a rear window. Polestar now confirms that an **estate variant of the Polestar 4** with a proper rear window is on the way.

According to Vi Bilägare, deliveries of the estate version are set to begin in **Q4 2026**. This addresses the most common objection to the current Polestar 4 and makes the car a stronger alternative to the Volvo EX60, Tesla Model Y and the new Zeekr 7GT.

Today's Polestar 4 starts from **SEK 6,995/month** in privatleasing. The estate variant is expected to land in the same price range or marginally higher.

New Polestar 2 — all-new generation, delivery 2027

Polestar 2 is the brand's best-seller and the model most people associate with the name. An **all-new generation** is now in development, which Polestar says has been created in record time.

The new Polestar 2 will be an entirely new car — not a facelift but a thoroughly reworked model on a new platform. Deliveries are expected to begin in **2027**. This means the current Polestar 2, available in privatleasing from **SEK 5,495/month**, will remain in the lineup for a while before the new generation takes over.

If you're considering leasing a Polestar 2 now, it's worth noting that the current model is still a highly competitive car. With the Geely Group's seven-year warranty and proven technology, there's no reason you need to wait — but if you want the latest tech, it may pay off to hold out until 2027.

Polestar 7 — compact premium SUV, launch 2028

Polestar 7 will be the brand's most compact model and a direct competitor to the Volvo EX60, BMW iX3 and Mercedes EQB. The car is related to the upcoming Volvo EX60 and shares its platform, but will feature a distinctly different design and driving character.

The launch is planned for **2028**, making Polestar 7 the last of the four new models to reach the market. Pricing is expected to be aggressive — likely in the range of SEK 500,000–650,000 — to attract buyers in the highest-volume segment.

In privatleasing, this could mean monthly prices around **SEK 5,000–7,000/month**, which would place Polestar 7 in direct competition with the Volvo EX60 and Tesla Model Y.

What does Polestar cost in privatleasing today?

For those who don't want to wait, there are already three Polestar models available for privatleasing:

  • Polestar 2: — from **SEK 5,495/month**
  • Polestar 4: — from **SEK 6,995/month**
  • Polestar 3: — from **SEK 9,995/month**
  • All three offer a premium feel, fast charging and competitive prices compared to BMW, Mercedes and Audi in the same segment.

Polestar's new strategy: from niche player to full-scale manufacturer

With seven models in the portfolio by 2028, Polestar is moving from being a niche player with three cars to a full-scale EV manufacturer. It's an aggressive strategy that signals that owner Geely (which also owns Volvo) is investing heavily in the brand.

For the Swedish privatleasing market, this means more choices and tougher competition — which always benefits the consumer. Keep an eye on PrivatLeasa.se for updated prices as the new models approach launch.
